Open House was founded to support the growing English-speaking population in Grenoble and the surrounding area. Our members are all linked by the English language and the fact that they are now living or have lived as expats. We know what it means to pack up and come to live in a foreign country where the language and customs may be very different from home. Since 1988 we have been offering support through community to help with the transition during this exciting and challenging time.
Open House runs a wide range of activities for people of all ages and from all walks of life. Regular meet-ups include wine tastings, lunches, outdoor activities, book groups, and coffee meetings where you can get to know other English speakers in the area. If you want to learn French or improve your language skills, we have Cafe Français. Our members are a source of information on just about anything you could need to know during your time in Grenoble.
As a non-profit, non-denominational, and apolitical association of English speakers, our goal is to assist and support all English speakers who have moved to the Grenoble area. Our website will give you more information about our events, places to visit in the region, and things to do around town. If you are a member of Open House, you will also have access to our private Facebook group, to gain more detailed information and tips on life in Grenoble, place classified ads, and other member announcements.
