LUNCH GROUP  January’s lunch group was held at the Hotel Restaurant Lesdiguieres.  Twelve of us enjoyed a delicious, gourmet 4-course lunch served by students of the school.   See our blog page for photos from the lunch.  February’s lunch will be announced in the next newsletter.

Our Annual Member Expo – the date is set for Sunday, March 25^th at CLEF.  If you are interested in displaying your arts, crafts, or services, please let us know!

Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt – the date is set for Sunday, April 1^st at the Centre Théologique de Meylan, save the date!

Our Annual Family Picnic – the date is set for Sunday, June 24^th in Montbonnot at the CUJD.  Please save the date!  This is a fun event for the entire family – great BBQ, food, drink, games, and company.

ELIPTICAL BIKE FOR SALE.  8 kg wheel, elliptical bike ‘Striale SE-5947.’  Details and rating: http://www.tool-fitness.com/prod-2461-striale-adeva-se-5947.html  This bike is only 3 months old and in perfect working condition.
The ‘attack so some deranged mutant monster snow goon’ made two cracks in the shell that protects the wheel though. GREAT BABYSITTERS AVAILABLE!  I have two university students who would love to have some work babysitting children. I personally used them while I was in Grenoble for the past month–they are great! They are here until July of 2012 and charge 8 Euro an hour.  They are both certified in CPR and have infant and child training. Last weekend the Outdoors Group went on a beautiful hike in the Chartreuse regional park to Col de la Grande Vache (altitude 1710 meters).

The Maison des Associations is located at: 6 rue Berthe de Boissieux, in the center of Grenoble, near the Caserne des Bonnes Mall. A map can be found here.

The kids and adults enjoyed many water games (water balloons, water fights, jumping roping with cups of water…), ice cream treats and even a hula performance!

We’d like to thank all the volunteers who grilled, helped set-up, helped clean-up, helped with the games and most especially Veronica for once again planning a wonderful event.  Oh and much thanks to our bartenders for keeping us hydrated!!!

Today’s picnic marked the end of Veronica’s term as President of Open House.  Our new President is Patty Ferreira.
